Wedding Gift

Quick housekeeping note: I needed a break from blogging for a while. Now I’m back and have lots to say…

Wedding season is quickly approaching and with that comes thoughts of plus ones, dresses, heels, hairstyles, and gifts. One of my really good guy friends is getting married in June and I couldn’t be happier. I remember when he called me all nervous after he bought the ring and was waiting to propose. Man, it felt like it took him forever to ask her – it was only 2 or 3 weeks but y’all know I’m a love fanatic. Do you know how hard it was for me not to call her every day and ask if she had any news?

Anyway, I’ve been looking at their gift registry and I’m impressed. Ever the sensible couple, they aren’t asking for anything extravagant. It’s always interesting to me to analyze wedding registries. Ever see one and just imagine that the couple went scan gun  thingy (yes, this is a technical term) happy? I mean, they have every. single. thing! on their list. Down to the things you KNOW good and well they won’t ever use. Then you get some couples whose lists basically read like, “Look! We’ve been shacking up for years now, so we don’t need much. We just want some new towels, bed linen, and a few more place settings.” Many couples, like my friend and his fiancee, tend to fall somewhere in the middle. Interestingly enough, I have seen one class of items pop up on wedding registries consistently for the last 5 years (at an average of 3 weddings yearly that’s about 15 weddings -quite a bit for my circle)… Can you guess what it is? If you said games you’d totally be correct. I love seeing this! From classic board games to video games what this says to me is, “We are a couple that enjoys each other’s company, the company of others, and loves to laugh.” When given the choice, I opt for a game or two as a wedding gift every time.

Do you have a favorite type of gift to give couples? What are some of the coolest things you’ve seen a couple register for?

I’m NOT a great gift giver lol
Well, sometimes. I always just pick something for weddings.
I go all OUT for babies though lol

Really? You’re so creative and talented. I just assumed you’d be a naturally awesome gift giver. The baby stuff is so much fun and cute, IMO, that you can’t help but to go all in. I’ve been known to lose my mind in a baby aisle or three.
